Job Description

Under direct supervision of the Springfield Regional Manager in the Field Operations Section of the Division of Public Water Supplies, Bureau of Water, conducts engineering evaluations of public water supplies; prepares engineering reports; supports Agency's enforcement programs; investigates citizen complaints; provides technical guidance and assistance to public water supply owners, operators and consultants; and assists and participates in implementation of Division programs.

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:  Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with a Bachelor's degree in an engineering science.

Specific Job Requirements:  Requires ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions on investigations; ability to operate a motor vehicle, travel and work overtime; requires a valid driver's license without restrictions on time of day or hours of operation; and ability to operate a personal computer.

Desirable Requirements:  Requires ability to prepare comprehensive, well structured written technical and engineering reports of field investigations and/or inspections; and ability to establish and maintain oral communication and working relationships with municipal officials, facility operators and owners, plant managers, or their representatives.
