Job Description and DutiesTHIS POSITION IS PENDING DOF APPROVAL
A position is available in the Incentives and Technology Advancement Branch of the Mobile Source Control Division, developing and implementing State-funded incentive programs such as the Carl Moyer Memorial Air Quality Standards Attainment Program and the Enhanced Fleet Modernization Program. These programs clean up older and more polluting engines, equipment and vehicles through grants for replacement, repower, and infrastructure projects administered through local air districts. The person in this position will apply scientific methods and principles to duties such as the following: Develop systems to track incentive program projects and funding, including the calculation and reporting of emission reduction benefits;
Develop policy recommendations and technical solutions to assist local development of projects funded by incentive programs;
Review local implementation of incentive programs relative to program guidelines and government accounting standards;
Work with ARB staff, local air districts and the public to resolve technical, economic, and policy issues related to the interaction of vehicle and equipment regulations, incentive funding, and advanced technologies;
In consultation with air districts and members of the public, provide technical expertise and policy support for deployment of vehicle, equipment and infrastructure projects statewide, including rural areas and disadvantaged communities;
Respond to public inquiries related to the implementation of incentive programs; and
Assist in the development of program guidelines and mobile source regulations.
The person in this position will work closely with staff and management implementing California’s emission reduction incentive programs and regulations affecting mobile sources, alongside ARB information services, legal, administrative, legislative, and public relations teams, and in close coordination with affected air districts and other state agencies.
