Job Description

This position is located in the Naval Facilities Engineering Mid-Atlantic (NAVFAC MIDLANT), Groton, CT, Operations Officer, PWO/Deputy PW Officer, Environmental Division.  The incumbent of this position is responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local environmental regulations; providing professional advice to the Commanding Officer and tenant commands regarding the rapidly changing complex environmental requirements.

This is an interdisciplinary position which may be filled by any of the following series: Environmental Engineer (0819), Biologist (0401), Physical Scientist (1301), Chemist (1320). 

Reviews documents to ensure environmental regulatory issues and requirements are addressed.
Participates in negotiations with personnel for timeliness compliance.
Prepares permit applications, monitoring reports, storm water pollution prevention plans, and other documents required by permits.

Occasional Travel
Travel is dependent upon position description and availability of funding.
