Job Description

Element Power Ireland Asset Management (“EPIAM”) currently manage 100MW of wind generation from their Control Centre based at Cork Ireland and are in the process of doubling these MWs in the coming months across Northern Europe.

The successful candidate will be someone who takes personal ownership for the work tasks they are issued and focuses on delivering a best in class service.  

The focus of the role for the intern will be to integrate themselves into the asset operations team and contribute to the ongoing success of the company.

What you will learn
The practical applications of electricity generation through wind farm assets
Windfarm Asset Operations Management
Asset performance optimisation
Wind Turbine Safety Rules and windfarm safety management
Application of quality standards to Asset Operations i.e. ISO9001,OSHAS18001, ISO14001
Wind Turbine fault data analysis & interrogation
Control room operator functions
SCADA control systems (both OEM & EPIAM’s Supervisory SCADA)
Commercial applications of operating wind assets
How wind assets integrate with the National Grid
Understand how weather forecasts impact work scheduled and wind asset performance
You will visit operating wind assets
How to develop and complete analysis reports

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
A background to diploma, degree or masters level in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental or Renewable Energy discipline)
Ability to analyse data
Self Starter with ability to work on own initiative & unsupervised
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite specifically excel (VBA & Macro)
Organized, with excellent attention to detail
Creative and flexible
Organised, with an ability to prioritize time‐sensitive assignments
An interest in working in a challenging and dynamic environment
