Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for coordinating the environmental compliance program by providing day-to-day environmental support to operations, developing, implementing, and maintaining required plans, permits, and reports within the organization.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:
• Develop and maintain environmental compliance calendar;
• Manage all reporting requirements identified on the environmental compliance calendar;
• Complete all required environmental inspections as required (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual);
• Oversee environmental permits and ensure compliant operation;
• Oversee daily wastewater operations and ensure compliant operation;
• Maintain all required environmental programs including SWPPP, SDPP, SPCC, etc.;
• Document all environmental non-compliance issues;
• Complete all spill response/excess emission reporting;
• Complete environmental incident investigations;
• Assist in RCA determination and corrective action implementation;
• Participate in all environmental regulatory inspections;
• Serve as the liaison between CJ and City/State/Federal environmental agencies;
• Log all NOV’s and complete required follow up actions;
• Develop/present/track required environmental training;
• Coordinate environmental incident response efforts around the clock as needed;
• Coordinate environmental response remediation efforts;
• Champion CJ’s reputation in the community as a good steward of the environment;
• Training personnel on environmental regulations applicable to the facility;
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting and compliance;
• Knowledge/prior experience with environmental regulatory agencies;
• Knowledge of wastewater regulatory compliance;
• Knowledge of hazardous waste compliance;
• Familiar with TRI reporting, minor source emission reporting, Tier 2 reporting, etc.;
• HAZWOPER experience;
• Solid interpersonal, influential, coaching, facilitation and organizational skills with excellent verbal and written communication capabilities;
• Excellent computer skills are required, including proficiency in MS Office products;
• Ability to meet deadlines;
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when emergencies arise;
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to be on-call;
• Valid Driver license

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
• Ability to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of shift;
• Ability to ascend/descend stairs and ladders in order to complete work tasks;
• Ability to move about the entire site for 50% of their shift;
• Ability to position self in order to collect samples;
• Ability to inspect all areas onsite for environmental concerns/hazards;
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds;

Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma/GED & 2 years directly related experience;
• Experience with environmental regulations, permitting and compliance;
• Experience working with environmental regulatory agencies preferred;
• Hazardous waste management experience preferred;
• Wastewater management experience preferred;
• Experience with TRI reporting, minor source emission reporting, Tier 2 reporting, etc., preferred
