Job Description

Position Summary:
NRDC is seeking an entry-level Program Assistant to provide important administrative and departmental support for the Center for Policy Advocacy department in our Washington, DC office.  The department provides important cross-institutional capacities, such as in federal and California government affairs, campaigns, and outreach to key partners and constituencies, and works closely with the affiliated NRDC Action Fund.  The Program Assistant is a valued member of the team ensuring the effective day-to-day operations of the department.

Responsibilities:
Scheduling and facilitating internal and external meetings
Managing calendar appointments and meetings
Coordinating travel arrangements
Processing invoices and business expenses
Tracking departmental income and spending and driving resolutions of discrepancies
Ensuring communication, collaboration, and information-sharing among CPA’s numerous programs
Drafting, editing, formatting, and proofreading internal memorandum and legal documents
Providing research and writing support
Providing general operational support and performing ad hoc projects for the department as needed

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Superior personal organization, time management and multi-tasking ability
Good judgment; attention to details; follows instruction well; can-do attitude
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
