Job Description

Angler Environmental, a RES Company, is accepting applications for summer interns with an interest and curriculum focused on Natural Resource Management, Ecology, Environmental Science, Botany, or similar field of study.  This position is based in our Raleigh, North Carolina Ecology Department. Desired candidate’s responsibilities would include, but are not limited to invasive species control, vegetation monitoring, ground water monitoring, stream survey, wetland delineation and other aspects of environmental restoration site management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively focus on a variety of tasks to produce quality results and within deadlines
  • Ability to travel occasionally to sites as needed, as overnight stays are occasionally required
  • A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors, handle rigorous physical activity, and lift a minimum of fifty pounds on a daily basis
  • Willingness to become certified as a Virginia Pesticide Applicator
  • Superior writing, communication, and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.) with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the following:

  • Reading and interpreting environmental mapping
  • Plant identification, especially invasive species
  • State and federal environmental regulations
  • Understanding of wetland and stream ecology
  • Survey techniques

The preferred candidate will be in the process of obtaining a B.S. in an ecology, biology, natural resource management, or environmental science related field.
