Job Description

Energy and Environment Manager

We are hiring a key member of the team that works with homeowners, farms and businesses who want to reduce costs and improve environmental performance through a variety of measures including electric and natural gas energy efficiency and waste management such as recycling and composting. The Energy and Environment Manager will support field staff to achieve aggressive growth goals, ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, and provide technical assistance to customers and clients. The Energy and Environment Manager will:

  • Manage the team to identify and document energy-saving opportunities in a diverse portfolio of opportunities to meet program requirements and directives and CET’s sales goals.
  • Manage a long life cycle to close sales in energy measures including energy efficiency, recycling and composting.
  • Provide support to the department in identifying technical solutions and navigating the commercial and industrial program offerings.
  • Develop a business plan identifying sales targets, revenue, and expense controls to meet program goals and promote the organization’s presence throughout the region.
  • Provide outreach, education and technical assistance throughout the consultation process.

This is a full-time salaried exempt position with benefits. To qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s degree and commercial, technical, energy efficiency or waste management experience. You will need working knowledge of or ability to learn state and federal energy programs and incentives and working knowledge of or ability to learn waste management practices to reduce waste and provide solutions for collection, diversion or recycling and proper disposal of waste materials. You should have a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience and 2 years of sales and energy efficiency experience. Minimum 2 years commercial energy efficiency work preferred.

You must be well-organized, be able to work independently and track and report results. You will need a professional appearance and communication style to be effective in the business sector. You should be flexible, reliable, self-directed, an excellent listener, and have a proficient work ethic with leadership skills. You must have excellent people and project management skills.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for the non-profit community mission of CET. You may include military service assignments and any verified work performed on a volunteer basis.
