Job Description


Tradebe is a global environmental services company with a growing presence in the U.S. The company has been present in the U.S. since 2004 and has grown significantly over the last 5 years, through organic growth and acquisitions. We currently operate a network of treatment and recycling plants in the U.S. processing over 500,000 tons a year, reclaiming valuable products using a range of advanced processes and technologies. The company owns and operates the Norlite facility, located in Cohoes, NY. This facility extracts shale from its quarry for processing at its two rotary kilns, to produce an expanded shale product sold as Light Weight Aggregate to the construction sector. The facility uses waste to fuel its process.

We are seeking an individual to perform environmental analysis of industrial hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.  The instrumentation to be utilized could be any combination of ICP, CVAA, or GC.  Other support instrumentation and sample preparation may be required. The selected candidate must be willing to work in an industrial setting with limited outside exposure, and must be willing to handle hazardous and non-hazardous wastes with appropriate PPE.  


A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology or related science, and two years of  instrumentation experience in a certified laboratory, are required.  Previous experience or certification in a NYS DOH ELAP or NELAP laboratory is desirable.   Previous experience in Environmental sample analysis and a familiarity with Hazardous and Non-hazardous waste management is desirable.  Knowledge of computer applications is required.  Strong candidates must possess a great work ethic, and have the ability to work alone as well as in a group. 

While performing the duties of this job, the selected candidate may be required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; may be frequently required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel; and crouch or crawl. The employee may be occasionally required to sit and climb or balance; may regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds; and may occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
