Environmental Program Manager I ($9,668-$12,019) - Division of Environmental Services, Office of Water Quality, West Sacramento
Duties: This challenging and rewarding position will provide management oversight and policy direction for the planning, construction, and operations of the interagency Delta Research Station, which includes the Interagency Ecological Program's (IEP) Field Station and co-located USFWS Fish Technology Center. The position will also serve as one of the Department’s technical and policy leads on Bay-Delta science issues and salmon resiliency strategies. We are a key part of the IEP program for the Bay-Delta and highly engaged in the current aquatic monitoring, research, and science for the estuary. The incumbent must perform high-level project management coordination and administration, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and direct the work of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency facility planning and operation teams.
Desirable Qualifications: Must possess a thorough understanding of program and project management principles, techniques, and tools including budgets and contracts; excellent planning, organizational, and analytical skills; strong leadership and interpersonal skills; and demonstrated ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary, interagency projects and teams.
Special Requirements: Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, as travel within California may be required. Must have a strong ability to understand and oversee estuarine research and monitoring activities, including an in-depth knowledge of aquatic biology, water quality, and principles of research in applied programs and knowledge of State, federal, and local environmental laws and regulations.
