Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the interface with external development and execution partners such as owner’s engineering, environmental/geotechnical/interconnection/planning & permitting consultants to support development, execution and commissioning of PV power plants with and without storage components;
  • Support internal business development teams to develop optimal commercial and technical solutions;
  • Cooperate with internal and external health and safety experts and be a leader in Shell’s “Goal Zero” safety initiative;
  • Develop and implement standards, processes and templates to cooperate with internal and external partners to deliver technical Scope of Work and Commissioning plans;
  • Implement industry best practices relating EPC selection and implementation, interconnection, planning/permitting, Safety, and Business development support;
  • Direct internal and external designers and consultants in creating, delivering and maintaining drawing packages and project documentation;
  • Work collaboratively with other operations team members on project execution and process development including business development, project procurement, construction management, and project controls;
  • Develop training for team members and new employees; and
  • Collaborate with team members when necessary to ensure effective communication and results.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering science
  • Minimum of Ten (10+) years of work experience, 5 years of experience as a systems engineer in the solar PV industry
  • Demonstrate deep engineering and technical knowledge of the renewable generating sector with a focus on solar and battery storage
  • Relevant work experience in the design and development and execution of power plants (in particular solar PV or wind power plants)
  • Experience in managing internal and external engineering and consulting resources
  • Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player, prepared to travel
