We are seeking a Liaison Engineer to support a variety of clients and services in the New York City, and Northeast areas. The Liaison Engineer will be located in a field office and will be responsible to coordinate with the client, construction manager/resident engineer, the contractor and the design team to help convey the design intent and resolve issues in the field. The Liaison Engineer must be familiar with water, wastewater and solid waste engineering in addition to being familiar with construction management practices. The Liaison Engineer will represent the design team in the field and will report directly to the project manager and be supported by the design team. Responsibilities of the Liaison Engineer include review and processing of shop drawing and RFI’s; preparation of field reports and memos; issuance of bulletins or supplemental designs; site inspections to observe the progress of construction on a regular basis; provide guidance to office staff based on field conditions to help resolve issues; coordination with the construction manager and the contractor to make decisions and resolve issues; and assist in commissioning and start-up of systems and facilities. The successful candidate for this position will work in a team environment to review construction plans and specifications and providing support during construction and other field assignments. The qualified candidate will have 5-10 years’ experience in civil/sanitary design and field experience with construction practices. Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required. Master's degree is desirable. A PE designation is required and OSHA 10 Certification is desired.
