Green Jobs Fair

On October 14, 2010 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM, in conjunction with the Governor’s Conference on Energy, the Virginia Sustainable Future Forum, Gregori Consulting LLC, and Environmental Career Center are presenting a “Green Jobs Fair” at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, Richmond, Virginia. The fair is open to all and will feature meetings with recruiters from a variety of organizations, as well as additional support services from the Virginia Employment Commission and special services for VETERANS provided by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services.

6:00 PM Job Fair Concludes
The Federal Green Jobs Legislative Conference will bring a panel of Department of Energy (DOE) and Department of Labor (DOL) officials and other key national and state green job policy makers to Hampton Roads to have them brief the region’s business, labor, government and community leaders and citizens on recent and pending federal legislation directly impacting green economic growth, green workforce training and green job creation.

The Green Careers Center participated in the EcoBuild America conference hosted in Washington D.C. from December 7-10, 2009. Ecobuild featured a green jobs fair for attendees to explore. The event paired the job seeking attendees with relevant employers. The fair also featured training sessions for the green employee and online listings. [more info]
AASHE, the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, held its 2009 conference in Indianapolis from September 20-23, in partnership with Ball State University. On Monday, September 21 st from 1:30 to 3:00pm, the Green Careers Center will did their part to ensure effective sustainability for the future of a greener world by hosting a career seminar at the conference featuring panelists from various fields.
