Next week, from May 10-11, the US Green Building Council will hold the 2011 Government Summit in Washington, D.C. The summit will examine the public private partnerships in the green building industry and how they can help fuel the growth of a clean energy economy. The keynote address will be given by the Honorable Ray Mabus, Secretary of the Navy. Other speakers are to include Nancy Sutley, Chair, Council on Environmental Quality; Martin O’Malley, Governor, State of Maryland; and Arthur H. Rosenfeld, Distinguished Scientist Emeritus, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, U.C. Berkeley. Once again, our nation’s young people will descend on the national mall to bring added awareness to the energy issues confronting our country today, and prepare themselves to be the energy leaders of the future. The event will take place from April 15-18 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Downtown Washington, DC. On Tuesday, November 16th, from 12:30pm-8:30pm, the U.S. Green Building Council will be holding its Green Jobs Summit as a lead-in event for the oragnization’s annual Greenbuild Conference and Expo. It is co-sponsored by the BlueGreen Alliance and the City of Chicago. Prior to the summit will also be a Green Jobs Fair held from 8:30am-12:30pm. More info
