It is responsible for communicating plans, formulating budgets and marketing green strategies to internal colleagues, vendor partners and guests. The role is full-time, year-round, exempt and reports into the Chief Operating Officer.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage, plan, and coordinate the organization’s overall sustainability efforts with the strategic goal of meeting present needs without compromising future generations. Facilitate sustainability cost savings, fund raising, and grant awards, maximizing efficiency and effectiveness programs, and elevating awareness and education. Coordinate all aspects of sustainability (social, environmental and economic elements) for Powdr, its affiliated resorts and business units and interaction with surrounding neighborhood communities.Working with the Powdr and Business Unit leadership, Green Teams, employees, vendor partners and public partners to develop long and short-term strategic plans, recommending policy and organizational changes needed to advance sustainability initiatives.Advocate internally and externally for sustainability projects and policies.Responsible for securing renewable energy credits.Supporter/member of Utah Clean Energy, Protect Your Playground initiatives and similar organizations within Powdr’s business footprint.Identify and adapt sustainability best practices from other corporations, industries and governments.Coordinate, enhance, and disseminate sustainability efforts of employees, business partners and guests.Establish, monitor, and report the organization’s sustainability performance goals & metrics.Manage budget fund expenditures and savings of sustainability initiatives.Facilitate, support, motivate and recognize the Green Teams and Business Unit sustainability efforts.Provide Sustainability education and training to stakeholders, as well as the broader communities in which we conduct business.Provide ongoing financial reporting on costs and benefits of all programs and publish an organizational sustainability report, analyzing past successes, current efforts, and future focus areas for reducing environmental, social, and economic impacts.Publicize, promote, and communicate sustainability efforts within and outside Powdr, our industry and our communities.Drive the coordination and development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.Perform/manage ad hoc projects, analysis and reporting as required by senior management and business partners.Establish close working relationships with business / functional leaders to develop an understanding of their issues and needs.This job description is an overview of the scope of responsibilities for this job and is not intended to be an inclusive list of job tasks and expectations. Requirements:Candidate Profile:Preferred EducationBachelor's degree in environmental studies or related degree in architecture, engineering, management or science, with a generalist environmental focus. Preferred Advanced Degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Policy or related field.Preferred LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional. Preferred ExperienceMinimum of five years’ experience implementing environmental or sustainability programs.Leadership experience in environmental initiatives, resource management, and teaching / presenting sustainability information.Identification of alternative project funding and/or partnership sources.Advanced knowledge and understanding of current sustainability trends and best practices.Preferred experience in mountain resort, adventure sports or related industries. Competencies, SkillsExcellent leadership, project management skills and political acumen.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced PowerPoint skills.Skill in examining and re-engineering processes, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.Excellent communication (written, oral – including public speaking) and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact with all employee levels, government officials, guests and public citizens.Skill in quantitative data analysis, including technical and scientific data.Excellent execution and follow-up skills for various colleagues.Ability to facilitate groups and manage multiple priorities and projects.Team building skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.Supervisor skills - Functional guidance of leadership and employee and indirect supervision of Green Team on an ongoing basis. Basic RequirementsGenerally, traditional business hours, Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM MT. .Must have able to flex schedule/adjust availability to meet business needs and expectations. .Able to travel up to 50% of time.This position is based in the Park City, Utah corporate headquarters.
