Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis announced today that she has submitted her resignation to President Obama.  She has served Secretary of Labor during President Obama’s complete first term.  During her reign as Labor Secretary in the Obama administration, she spearheaded many programs to get America back to work after the economic recession of 2007 to 2009.  Hilda Solis developed new programs for veterans, green jobs programs and job training during one of the most challenging economic periods in American history.  Ms. Solis served in the House of Representatives representing the Los Angeles area for eight years prior to her appointment to the Department of Labor.
